Highlander News
Official
Opening of the new Depot 8 April 2010
This day is going to be great with lots of special one off offers! We will
be holding it as an open day/fete
with the official ceremony at 11.30, but morning tea and all the fun will start
from 10.30am. We are running shuttles from Thornton Station from 10am, and
we will also have limited car parking available. Some of our key partners
will be coming, with information on cruising, European travel, New Zealand and
more!
All Highlanders are invited and the day is free of charge, but bring your cheque
book so you can take advantage of some great special deals! We will be
giving out our exclusive Passport to Savings which will give you the opportunity
to save on your tours as well as entering the Prize Draw.
Many of our suppliers
will be there and offering great deals, with Grand Pacific Tours, Globus, Avalon
Waterways for River Cruising and more.
New
Driver
We have just welcomed to the team Ray Keast, a new driver, who has done a bit of
casual work with us this year, and had his first overnight tour on Monday.
We had a great time, and his wife Rhonda came along with us and was a great help
to everyone. He is going on the
Kangaroo
Island tour with Bill and then will
be doing quite a few day trips. He is a really thoughtful and caring person, and
I was really impressed with his willingness to help our passengers.
Brochures
Out Now!
Due to popular demand, the Big Brochure is back! Most of you will have
received this in the mail already this week, however there are some of you in
the Hunter, who will not be receiving it until next week as our brochure
packaging machine broke down half way through! We have been waiting on a
part of it from Melbourne and sent out some brochures in envelopes, but
unfortunately we could not get them all into the envelopes this week!
I am just putting the finishing touches on our International Brochure so that
should also be out next month, although we do have individual itineraries for
many tours so please call our office.
I also have to apologise to the many Hunter people who did not receive the
brochure last week. The part for the machine which wraps them broke down
and we didn’t receive the part until today. Robert is up at the old shed
running the last one through as I type so we are hoping you will get them in the
next few days. Apparently the word is out and we have had a few people
come to the depot to look for their brochure, so that is great!
New FREE
Afternoon Tea Information Sessions
We are now holding information sessions at the new Depot, in our meeting room.
We are inviting suppliers to come and do a film presentation and to talk to
people about specific tours. The programs will be loaded on the website shortly
and are listed in our new day trips brochure. If you would like to come to
one of these sessions, please make sure you book in advance to give us an idea
of numbers!
Airport &
Cruise Ship Transfers
Our airport transfers are very popular and are as little as $27 per person
depending on how many people you wish to transfer. These are door to door
bookings, as we know from experience that when you get off a flight you want to
get straight home without doing lots of home pickups to other people’s places.
You will pay a little more for our transfers if you are a couple, but four or
more get a great price which will beat any other transfer operator. Please
call the office for a quote. We do transfers to Sydney
and Newcastle Airports and Cruise Terminals.
