Lord Howe has been awarded World Heritage Listing for its rare collection of plants, birds, marine life and exceptional beauty. This paradise is just 11km long and barely 2km wide. Most of the island is covered in natural forests, with spectacular Banyan trees and Kentia palms. The beaches and waters are pristine, surrounded by a marine park that includes a crystal clear lagoon, and the world's most southerly coral reef. They have the only flying spitfire in Australia, the only flying Gloster Meteor F8 in the world, the oldest flying tiger moth in Australia, the only flying Canberra in the Southern Hemisphere and the only Australian built Vampire still flying.
