Northern Highland Travel is Australian Tourism Awards Finalist!

9 January 2004

Jenny and Robert Aitchison travelled to Perth to attend the ceremony, but unfortunately were not able to bring back an award. The nomination as a finalist is a great honour for Northern Highland Travel, but also for the bus and coach industry. Jenny said "It is good to see a coach company getting up at the state level against a broad range of other transport options for tourists. The bus and coach industry has taken some major steps towards increasing professionalism and delivering great service for tourists and operators alike and it is good to see that being recognised by other sectors within the tourism industry."

Only 1 NSW company of the 28 who were finalists received an award this year. Southern Cross University at Lismore received an award for their training and development programs in Tourism.

There were an unprecedented number of winners from the West, notably the new Western Australian Maritime Museum, a new museum in Perth which Robert and Jenny were very impressed with on their visit. "It is great to know that even if we are not winning all the awards, we are visiting award winning properties!", said Jenny.
