NHT Wins Coach of the Show at the NSW Bus & Coach Show
21 April 2005
The coach has all the features required for extended luxury touring, including refrigerator, on board urn and cold water, air ride seats for Driver and Guide, Panoramic Windows with shadecloth blinds that cut out the glare not the view, two television monitors, and hearing aid loops for those with hearing aid T switches.
Northen Highland Travel has purchased three luxury coaches since the beginning of the year, each with a mural by John Elliott of Prickle Patch Signs on the back. The winning Coach's mural was of Captain Thunderbolt, the famous bushranger who "worked" both the New England region and the Hunter. The other Murals are of Christchurch Cathedral in Newcastle, the 3801 Steam Train from Maitland, and a fossicker from the Barrington's region.
"The Murals are eyecatching and really market the region on our tours all over Australia" Managing Director Jennifer Aitchison said.
The coach's number plate is NHT001, and it will be mainly driven by Foundation Director Bruce Aitchison. It has been named John Oxley after the famous explorer who did a great deal of exploration in the New England area, where Bruce and Elaine started Northern Highland Travel.
It was a great honour to win the award, as AAT King's latest coach was in contention as well.
