NHT Staff Star in OH&S Video for Coach Industry

23 April 2005

The Hunter Company provided staff as actors and in case studies in the DVD which highlights the obligations of bus and coach operators in NSW in meeting their OH&S responsibilities. The video also has training material that can be used to enhance staff compliance.

Managing Director, Jenny Aitchison said that it was an important issue for the company to be involved in, "As a small, but growing operator from a regional area, we wanted to show that the issues are just as important for us as they are for large bus companies in Sydney. We have undertaken extensive re-evaluation of our own business as a result of the safety legislation changes, and the growth in our business which has meant more training to ensure our staff are kept up-to-date.

Our passengers will be very pleased to know that Robert has achieved one of his goals of appearing in a film with Michael Caton. However, unfortunately the actor did not attend filming sessions involving NHT, so Robert did not get to meet his hero from the great Australian classic: The Castle.

Managing Director Jenny Aitchison was interviewed extensively for the video, providing valuable feedback from a regional operator of a small business.

A number of passengers, Coach Crew Members, Sandra and Allan Crawford and Keri Collett and Office Administration Staff Jo Curry and Kathie Cox appeared in the DVD as well as Jenny and Robert's children Joshua and Jessica. Jessica was very happy with her performance, saying she was "a good actress becase I learned my lines!"

The DVD is available through the NSW Bus and Coach Association.
