"The Pope" Gets a Facelift, and more!
16 February 2005
The coach seats were replaced with new state of the art seats, a new hearing aid loop was installed and so were our signature blinds which cut the glare but not the view.
Called the Pope (as in Popemobile) because of it's white two pak paint job when compared to the rest of our fleet, it has now joined the NHT Fleet colours of Burgundy and Teal.
The Mural on the back of the Coach is the 3801 - Hunter River Country's Symbolic Jewel for Steamfest.
The number plate is NHT003 and the coach has been named Dirk Hartog, after the famous Dutch Explorer who nailed a plate on the coast of WA before the British Explorers had even thought of coming here. We thought it a great name as it is the oldest coach in the Fleet (everything else is being built this year), and the only one we have not built ourselves - so having come from another coach company originally, you could call it a "foreigner"!
