Our first Theatre Trip is an Overnight Success
18 February 2007
Northern Highland Travel held its first overnight theatre trip with a trip to Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Star City Casino this weekend.
Passengers were treated to a viewing of the new nursery on the site of the Old Brick Pit: Eden, before checking into their luxurious accommodation at the Courtyard Marriot at North Ryde. This new motel was very comfortable and there was an excellent range for everyone to enjoy for breakfast.
That night our bus made its way to Star City Casino for dinner before the show, which was a real extravaganza. The colour, costumes, music and humour were superb. And the best bit was the short drive across the bridge to our bed, rather than having to make our way home in the middle of the night.
The next morning we spent some time at the Rocks, where some went to the markets, or watched old fashioned boiled lollies being made, or visited the Rocks Museum which tells the wonderful history of this area. Others caught a ferry to enjoy icecreams at Manly, or some just soaked up the atmosphere of Circular Quay and the Opera House.
After lunch we made our way home to Thornton, relaxed and comfortable, ready for work again on Monday, dreaming of upcoming trips to fill more weekends on the way.
